Fritton Lake is one of the most beautiful stretches of water in East Anglia, extending two and a quarter miles from end to end it is considered the jewel in the crown of the historic Somerleyton Hall estate. The Fritton Lake “Big Swims” form part of our Norfolk Open Water Swim series of events. Hosted in such amazing scenery, the swim course follows a route between the bank and buoys situated down the middle of the lake. With two distances to choose from, 3km or 5km. the race is designed to cater for many swimming swimming capabilities. As well as being monitored by our own safety team this event is supported by the Waveney Valley Canoe Club, who every year perform with outstanding ability to care for all of the swimmers.

The use of wetsuits is optional subject to the water temperature being 16 degrees celsius or above (in the event that the water temperature is below this threshold the use of wetsuits will be made compulsory).

All finishers will receive a medal, and in addition there will be trophies for the male and female winners in the following categories:

Juniors (U18)

Seniors (18 to 39)
