The 2nd annual Cold Half is an incredible training opportunity for those wanting some good mileage in good conditions (meaning potentially tough), amazing scenery, and a great group of motivated do-ers. This is for solos and teams of 2 only (30min legs). This year, we are also creating the new "Cold Standard" race, which includes doing the Cold Half solo, and the next day, running in the Standard Chartered Marathon (full length). We can help get entries to the always-sold-out Standard Chartered Marathon if you let us know by September 15th, 2013. This is going to be a big race-double for those who are thriving on adrenaline.

Over the past years, we’ve battled with storms and earthquakes, but we are pleased to announce that after two successful years in Akaroa, we will be back to bring you a third instalment of the State La Grande Swim, the fourth of six events in the State New Zealand Ocean Swim Series.
Consisting of four different swim events, the State La Grande Swim provides an ocean swim event for all ages and abilities:
‘I’m Going Long’ - a 2.8km swim from French Bay Beach to Children’s Bay Beach.
‘Step It Up’ - a 1000m swim starting at French Bay Beach and finishing on Children’s Bay Beach, an achievable distance for individuals with swimming experience.
‘Give It A Go’ – a 300m swim off Children’s Bay Beach, a great introduction to open water swimming.
'State OceanKids' - a swim for children aged between 6-10 years old, consisting of a fun 30min safety activity session followed by a 200m shallow water triangular swim off Children’s Bay Beach, lined with Surf Life Saving NZ guards.
