GREAT SYDNEY SWIM - 26 JANUARY
Take the plunge in the Final ocean swim of the Great Australian Swim Series.
The Great Australian Swim Series involves ocean swims along the east-coast of Australia in the Whitsundays, Byron Bay, Brisbane, Gold Coast and Sydney between May and January each year.
The Final takes place in Farm Cove – right alongside the Sydney Opera House and the Royal Botanic Gardens on Australia Day.
Join in the festivities of the Final swim on 26th January, with every participant receiving a race pack and great prizes up for grabs. The Great Australian Swim series offers enjoyment in every experience from the P&O Cruises 2km Swim for the experienced swimmer, the Ky Hurst 750m course for those just starting out or feeling like a casual splash and the Junior Kids 300m event where entrants swim along-side some of open waters best swimmers and sports stars.
Take the plunge and join the fun of the Great Australian Swim Series this summer!
An ocean swim hugging the Oriental Bay Beaches, with some of the best spectator vantage points around the Harbour, the State Capital Classic is the third of six events in the State New Zealand Ocean Swim Series.
Consisting of four different swim events, the State Capital Classic provides an ocean swim event for all ages and abilities:
‘I’m Going Long’ - a 3.3km swim from Frank Kitts Park, around the iconic Pt Jerningham Lighthouse to Freyberg Beach in Oriental Bay.
‘Step It Up’ - a 1000m swim starting at Oriental Bay Beach and finishing at Freyberg Beach, an achievable distance for individuals with swimming experience.
‘Give It A Go’ – a 300m swim starting at Oriental Bay Beach and finishing at Freyberg Beach, a great introduction to open water swimming.
'State OceanKids' - a swim for children aged between 6-10 years old, consisting of a fun 30min safety activity session followed by a 200m shallow water swim from Oriental Bay Beach to Freyberg Beach, lined with Surf Life Saving NZ guards.
The 2nd annual Cold Half is an incredible training opportunity for those wanting some good mileage in good conditions (meaning potentially tough), amazing scenery, and a great group of motivated do-ers. This is for solos and teams of 2 only (30min legs). This year, we are also creating the new "Cold Standard" race, which includes doing the Cold Half solo, and the next day, running in the Standard Chartered Marathon (full length). We can help get entries to the always-sold-out Standard Chartered Marathon if you let us know by September 15th, 2013. This is going to be a big race-double for those who are thriving on adrenaline.
