The Croatian International Long Distance Swimming Championship
The Faros Maratón Swim is also the annual Croatian International Long Distance Swimming Championship, a 16-kilometer race from Stari Grad to Faros, Croatia.

Event Organization
It is organized by the Croatian Long Distance Swimming Federation that was inducted in the International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame as an Honour Organisation in 2012.

The Competition
The competition has developed over the last 37 years from a small provincial marathon swim into a world-class event drawing the international elite.

16K in the Sea of Stari Grad Bay
The professional race is 16 kilometers in the Sea of Stari Grad Bay on Hvar Island and takes place in the month of August.

One of the Leading Athletic Events in Croatia
1,122 athletes from 42 countries have taken part in this international celebration of marathon endurance that is one of the leading sporting events in Croatia.

Committed Leadership
Previously known as the Yugoslav International Long Distance Swimming Championship, the organisation continued to host their event despite war conditions.

      Very true, Steven. And this particular listing even demonstrates that you can include videos. Event contributors are encouraged to include a video from prior year events. Simply pick one that best represents what this year's event will be like. There's obviously plenty of room for creativity.
