Eco-Swims

Eco swimming includes open water swims, relays, stage swims, races or charity swims with one or more of the following goals:

  1. aims to protect, conserve or call attention to the environment or ecology,
  2. improve or protect the welfare of marine life or the local or indigenous area,
  3. incorporates education of the natural environment or ecology,
  4. is conducted in an ecologically-sustainable or environmentally-friendly manner,
  5. is held in areas that are under environmental protection or that protect marine life,
  6. aims to create or enhance environmental or ecological awareness,
  7. raises money or provides direct financial benefits for conservation, marine life or environmental protection, research and/or education,
  8. builds awareness or provides education of a local community or culture,
  9. lobbies local governments or officials for access to, protection of or a clean-up of a waterway, or
  10. minimizes the impact of mankind on the environment

Designed for both novices new to the sport of open water racing and elite swimmers looking for a challenge. The race attracts some of the top swimmers in the world, including open water star Marcos Diaz from the Dominican Republic. Praised for its organization, excellent course along the shore, and redundant safety measures.

The Cold Half – Extreme Marathon Swim – 15km, solo or teams of 2, Hong Kong @ Stanley Main Beach to Middle Island

The 2nd annual Cold Half is an incredible training opportunity for those wanting some good mileage in good conditions (meaning potentially tough), amazing scenery, and a great group of motivated do-ers.  This is for solos and teams of 2 only (30min legs).   This year, we are also creating the new "Cold Standard" race, which includes doing the Cold Half solo, and the next day, running in the Standard Chartered Marathon (full length).  We can help get entries to the always-sold-out Standard Chartered Marathon if you let us know by September 15th, 2013.   This is going to be a big race-double for those who are thriving on adrenaline.
