Check-in, packet pick-up and race day registrationfrom 7:30 - 8:30 a.m. Race begins at 9:00 a.m. for the 500mand 9:30 a.m. for the 1 mile. No late starters.The Redwood Coast Chapter of the United States Lifesaving Association in conjunction with Redwood Coast Masters will be hosting the 22nd Annual Spring Lake Open Water Swims on Saturday May 17th.

The swim will begin and end on a small sandy beach. Water temperature should be 68 to 70 degrees. The swimmers will swim straight out towards the south end of the lake and loop around 3 marker buoys and an island. They will then travel the west side of the lake to the north end looping 3 ,marker buoys and coming straight into a sand finish. The 500m swim will be a straight out and back swim from our sandy beach. All participants must wear the provided swim cap; there will be no exceptions. There are 2 categories for suits, Category 1 and Category 2.a. Category 1 suits can only be made from textile materials. For men, the swimsuit shall not extendabove the naval nor below the knees. For women, the swimsuit shall not cover the neck, extend pastthe shoulder nor extend below the knees.b. Category 2 suits include all other swimwear (e.g. wetsuits, previously legal technical suits, like Blue70’s or Lazers, rash guards and arm bands.)Category 2 wetsuits will render the participant ineligible for awards. Awards will be given to the overall female and male winners and to the first three places in all age groups.The course will be patrolled by lifeguards from Redwood Coast Lifesaving Association. All pre-registered competitors will receive a commemorative t-shirt.
