Lake Eland Mile Open Water Swim takes place each year on the first sunday of November , the next event will take place in the Lake at the Lake Eland Game Reserve, in Kwazulu Natal South coast of South Africa on the 3rd of November 2013. For a truly wild swim experience this is an event not to be missed. Set in the bush amongst wild animals the lake is a draw card for swimmers from all over the world as the location although in the bush is also only 35km away from the beach in the closest town of port Shepstone. The events offered include 500m / mile events and 3000m event which is a SSA qualifying event. The Lake Eland mile sees swimmers from ages 6 - 76 enter the event each year, an activity the entire family can join in for. Cash prizes and Gold Silver and Bronze medals are won each year over 29 different categories and all swimmers receive finishing medals. Although many stands is available for browsing on the day including food stalls, the Reserve allow visitors to bring in their own drinks, gas braais and food should they not wish to purchase food at the venue. Fees for 2013 ranges from R85 per swimmer for team events to R260 (including towels and depending on date of entry) many fee structures are offered in between and largely depend on the date entered, whether a towel is ordered and whether discount applies. Lake Eland Mile offers discounts on entries in 2013, should a swimmer swim more than one event discounts are given and should a swimmer be a pensioner 20% discount on entry fees are offered. The Nanticoke River Swim and Triathlon is a 3 mile open water swim, a 2 mile open water swim or a sprint triathlon in scenic Bivalve, Maryland. This is a challenging open water swim that includes strong tides and currents. This will be the 6th year of the event. The Nanticoke River Swim and Triathlon is a USAT Sanctioned event and is a 501(c)3 corporation. All proceeds benefit various local charities
The 3rd Annual Event honoring Fran Crippen. Proceeds from the event go towards the Elevation Foundation set up in Frans memory. Held as part of the 2013 Open Water Festival being held at Miromar Lakes, located in the Fort Myers Area.

Designed for both novices new to the sport of open water racing and elite swimmers looking for a challenge. The race attracts some of the top swimmers in the world, including open water star Marcos Diaz from the Dominican Republic. Praised for its organization, excellent course along the shore, and redundant safety measures.
The King and Queen of the Sea (Rei e Rainha do Mar in Portuguese) is a three-stage professional and amateur open water swim series held in Copacabana Beach, Arpoador Beach and Leme in Brazil. The third stage on Copacabana Beach is broadcast live in Brazil on TV Globo.
The event is one of the World's Top 100 Open Water Swims and is produced by Pedro Rego Monteiro of Effect Sport and is a charity swim on behalf of the Pro Crianca Cardiaca Foundation that runs the Hospital Pro Criansa Jutta Batista in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil.
GIANTS OF THE BAY 30KM RACE - March 9, 2013
This is a new and exciting swim that raises awareness and funds for Autism. It is the longest swim in Australia and has some tidal assistance for the last 5 - 8 km. All swimmers will require a paddler and boat and there are qualification criteria for solo swimmers.

The Ben Hair Open Water Race meet features a range of opportunities with race distances from 500m up to 5k, a large block of camping area at the race site (as well as many other lodging options, see below), and an open water clinic for both coaches and swimmers. In an effort to enhance the team aspect of this event we are including team scoring and a new event - the Team Time Trial (also know as the "Team Pursuit"). The result is a meet that can provide the athlete with a range of team-oriented, challenging, and motivating events.
This 5K & 1K open water swim (fixed buoy course) will honor one of America's finest. Aaron Vaughn, a member of DEVGRU (SEAL Team VI), was KIA on Aug. 6th, 2011 when a Chinook helicopter crashed in the Tangi River Valley of Afghanistan. All 30 American warriors on board lost their lives that day. This crash represented the single largest loss of life in Naval Special Warfare history.
The Annual Aaron Vaughn Memorial Frogman Swim is the primary fundraiser for Operation 300 Camp. www.operation300.com - an extreme adventure camp for children of fallen soldiers.

Swim Across America (SAA), a national non-profit organization dedicated to raising money for cancer research, prevention and treatment is set to host its third annual Dallas events June 7-8, 2013. The much anticipated fundraisers will benefit the InnovativeClinicalTrialsCenter at the BaylorCharlesA.SammonsCancerCenter in Dallas, the largest outpatient cancer center in North Texas dedicated to cancer care, research and education.
