This 5K & 1K open water swim (fixed buoy course) will honor one of America's finest. Aaron Vaughn, a member of DEVGRU (SEAL Team VI), was KIA on Aug. 6th, 2011 when a Chinook helicopter crashed in the Tangi River Valley of Afghanistan. All 30 American warriors on board lost their lives that day. This crash represented the single largest loss of life in Naval Special Warfare history.
The Annual Aaron Vaughn Memorial Frogman Swim is the primary fundraiser for Operation 300 Camp. www.operation300.com - an extreme adventure camp for children of fallen soldiers.
All registrants will receive free breakfast, juice, coffee, and fruit as well as a free lunch for our awards celebration! The first 200 registrants will be guaranteed an event sports bag full of goodies, including a specially designed, one-of-a-kind T-shirt from "Forged Clothing~ An American Brand" (A San Diego company founded by 2 Navy SEALs)
This will be a family-fun day. Events will be planned throughout the morning to entertain your children, including a 50 yard Tadpole Swim, so be sure to bring them along!

The athletes choose to complete a 5 or 2 kilometer Open Water Swim, followed by a 21, 14 or 7 kilometer run. They also have the option only to do the 5 or 2 kilometer Swim!
It's a timed race and the athletes will receive a separate Swim-time, Transition-time and Run-time. Our two swim courses are designed to fit all levels of Open Water Swimming and give the athletes an opportunity to experience a mass-start.
The race takes place in The Royal National City Park which is within walking distance from downtown Stockholm and includes the bay Djurgårdsbrunnsviken and the canal Djurgårdsbrunnskanalen.Djurgårdsbrunnsviken was the site for the penthalon, rowing, diving, swimming and water-polo events at the 1912 Summer Olympics in Stockholm.
East Dorset Open Water Swimming Club will hold its annual open water swim across the spectacular Studland Bay near Swanage on the Isle of Purbeck by kind permission of the National Trust and in support of the Seahorse Trust.
The swim will be held under BLDSA rules although both wetsuit and non wetsuit competitors may enter.

Two new Open Water Sea Swim events have been added to the global calendar. These events will take place July 6-7 and October 26-27, 2013. In both cases there will be a 1.5km race and a 5km race, over a Saturday and Sunday.
The location is Carlisle Bay, a conveniently located venue in close proximity to hotels, restaurants, shopping and night-life. Carlisle Bay is a picturesque, crescent shaped bay with warm, calm, clear waters bordered by a long stretch of white sand. The Bay is a favourite for local open water swimmers and as well as snorkelers and paddle-boarders. The Events are designed to attract open water swimmers & tri-athletes from across the globe to swim and enjoy Barbados with family and friends. Non-swimming partners, friends, spouses and children can all enjoy these events.
Who is SwimBarbadosVacations (SBV)?
SwimBarbadosVacations has been formed by Zary Evelyn, former National Water Polo player and now avid recreational open water swimmer. His wife, Kristina, is assisting with promoting the event and organising other activities to complement the swims. Chris & Peter Gibbs, brothers and two veteran open water swimmers (Chris swam the Channel, Peter swam Lake Ontario) are well-known on the local and regional scene having been involved in triathlons, swimming and water polo for more than 25 years. Andrew Kirby, President of the BASA (Barbados Amateur Swimming Association), also a former competitive swimmer is another member of the planning team.
The ultimate goal is to establish an annual open water swim event and share the enjoyment of open water swimming in Barbados with the world.
